Update from the Field: Phase 2

One month ago we launched Rooting for the Home Team, alongside partners in the states and Brazil. Together, we hit the ground running and couldn’t be more grateful to all of you for signing on as a fan for local communities in Brazil fighting to prevent their removal.

A lot has happened since September 4th, and we have more hope now than ever that we can get the government of Brazil to change their plans for displacing the 5,000 familes that make up Comunidades do Trilho.

To do this, however, we must build the movement beyond our existing networks. And we’re crafting a plan to do just that.

This Friday, we’ll be launching Phase 2 of the campaign.  To coincide with the next round of World Cup qualifying matches, we’re gearing up for an online action that will recruit 1000’s of additional fans for the Home Team.

Can you help us out? We’ll need everyone on board tweeting and facebooking for this one. Not on twitter or facebook but willing to sign up? Check out some simple instructions below to get up to speed.

We’ll post more specifics about the action tomorrow, but for now please continue to share the video and ask your friends and family members to sign the petition!

For the Home Team,
